Fabrication Supervisor – Engineering Workshop

  • Review workshop drawings, identifying any potential production issues.
  • Scheduling and planning
  • Lead and coach team of fabricators to improve performance

 

The company:

A highly respected leader in the NZ market. Due to their reputation and commitment to on-time delivery of quality work, they are continuously busy and now need you to support the workshop manager.

 

The role:

  • Oversee job drawings to work out scheduling, including programing of jobs and determine project start dates as well as how to stage the job for production flows. There can be up to 15 jobs running at any one time.
  • Review drawings and raise potential issues regarding production with Workshop Manager
  • Lead and coach team of fabricators to improve performance.
  • Train and develop direct reports to improve their leadership and management skills
  • Run regular toolbox meetings
  • Lead initial investigations and by example in health & safety
  • Induct new employees to the workshop

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong team leadership/ supervisory experience within a range of production workshops.
  • Welding and fabrication experience essential.
  • Knowledge of engineering standards.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings to breakdown production and manufacturing into sequences and timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills essential
  • Excellent relationship builder ensuring open communication as well as cooperation and integration of production elements.

Maintenance Fitter- West Auckland

What your day will look like:

With your strong experience as a Maintenance Fitter, carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance and repair work on a wide variety of machines and equipment will be second nature to you. One day you might be working on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, generally servicing plant and machinery. The next you may be involved in machine rebuilds and overseeing contractors to help you get the jobs done. Whatever needs your attention, your objective, is to keep all machinery operational and limiting downtime in the large workshop.

Maintenance Fitter, Central Auckland

Your role and your new company:

Bring your natural affinity with all things mechanical and run a maintenance program that limits the down time of machinery, focus on urgent repairs and build jigs to support you in this process. The workshop runs 24/5 and for urgent jobs, your focus on ensuring downtime is minimised will see you at times needing to work outside standard hours. Overtime rate is paid at 1.5x, ensuring you’re rewarded for your extra effort.

QC Inspector – Fabrication and Welding, West Auckland

Immerse yourself in the inspection of fabricated steelwork for dimensional compliance (against drawings), welding compliance, and correct item identification. In addition, ensure all associated documentation and inspection records are current.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Ideally you’ll have around 5 years industry experience in fabrication and welding inspection.
  • AS/NZS 2214 Welding Supervisor (or suitable equivalent), or formal Weld Inspection qualification.
  • Ability to read fabrication drawings and weld symbols.
  • Pragmatic and collaborative approach to non-conformity resolution.

The workshop operates on a rotating dayshift/nightshift pattern (approximately 4 week rotations) and your talents will be required across this pattern as well.
